Allergy Testing

Allergy Testing

Unlike widely used back pricks on the skin’s dermal layer that produce a high percentage of false positives and false negatives for both random and common allergies, Diax Labs’ unique allergy testing utilizes a IgE blood test to measure the body’s immune response to 71 specific inhalant, food and contact allergens. Our widely trusted immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies testing provides the most effective allergy diagnostics with the greatest accuracy of results and the lowest margin of error.

Startling Statistics

50 million Americans suffer from some form of allergy

Allergy diseases affect more than 20% of the U.S. population

Allergies are the 6th highest cause of chronic illness in the United States

≈40% of children with food allergies is allergic to more than one food

 Common Zone Allergies

Our allergy panel tests for common zone allergens in a specific zone of the nation’s eight allergy zones, with Texas and Oklahoma comprising the Southwest zone. The distinct ecosystem in each zone yields unique varieties of common allergens, including grasses, trees and ragweed, and unique allergy seasons. Using common grass allergens as an example, not only does our test accurately conclude whether a patient has an allergy to grass, it pinpoints the actual grass itself, such as Bermuda and St. Augustine.

Food and Pet Allergies

Food allergies are unquestionably prevalent and on the rise, and the Diax Labs test very specifically pinpoints food allergens, including the eight most common food allergies identified by the Food and Drug Administration: milk, with cow’s milk being the most common food allergy among American children, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, fish, crustacean shellfish, which is the most common adult allergy but which doesn’t typically develop until later in life, and eggs. Sesame is rising in the ranks of food allergy concerns.

Common and Uncommon Allergies

While our 71-panel test covers common allergies such as the zone allergies, dust, pet dander, pollen and food allergies, it also tests for allergens that aren’t always top of mind, including:

  • Dust mites and mold spores, rampant in carpet, upholstered furniture and non-washable fabrics
  • Raw produce and nuts, which can cross-react with grasses and pollen
  • Latex and plant-based rubber, commonly found in balloons, condoms, rubber gloves, elastic, baby bottle nipples and pacifiers, and toys
  • Insects
